I've tried also just plugging the QNAP directly into another PC thunderbolt to USB, but that PC just read it as a CD (probably lacking a driver) and I can't do anything with that, it seems. I tried going into network settings and changing my IP address (I run everything through Express VPN btw) and subnet as I read, but all it does it make it so my computer (which is connected through Wifi, not LAN), loses connectivity. I want to create a LAN network just for my home, ideally that is totally self-enclosed between devices on the network without being dependent on an ISP node. I was connected in the past, though I think in retrospect it was just through qcloud, which isn't ideal (super slow, insecure, etc.). I have the TVS connected to a powerline in my room, which is connected out to a powerline with the router. I have a QNAP TVS x73e which I want to connect to my Win10 OS PC through LAN.
